"People always assume, “Her life has been so easy!” But it’s not, and it’s all in here, and it’s all the truth. I’m not trying to say, “Well, my life has been s–t, so you got it wrong," she told Entertainment Weekly. "And when I was 15 I had people writing about how fat and ugly they thought I was. They still do it now and it still hurts, but not as much as it did back then," she told the Mirror. "I remember feeling like I just wanted to crawl into a hole, and when I got home I cried for about two weeks."

She continued, "Comments like that led me to drugs and alcohol. When you’re 15 and you’re suddenly faced with, ‘you’re fat, you’re ugly, you’re just a celebrity’s daughter’, you’re like, ‘I never wanted to be famous.'"

“I’m the most secure and content I’ve ever been. Though I’m still very self-deprecating: I look in the mirror sometimes and I feel like going back to bed. Everyone has good days, everyone has bad days,” she told Self magazine in 2013. “When you change your body, you start to get selfish. You’re like, Oh, but that’s still fat and that’s still gross and why can’t I look like that? To stop myself I have to look at how far I’ve come. I’ve learned how to eat right and look after myself."

"I have more fun with it because I don’t care what people think, I don’t follow trends. I mean, I walked around with purple hair for two years getting called a witch and now everyone’s doing it," she told Refinery 29.
