Sherman Alexander Hemsley is an American actor and musician best known for his roles as George Jefferson on the CBS TV series All in the Family and The Jeffersons, and Deacon Ernest Frye on the NBC and B.P Amen series. Richfield in the ABC Dinosaur series. Hemsley also played Judge Carl Robertson in the NBC series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. For his work The Jeffersons, Hemsley has been nominated for the Golden Globe and Emmy Awards. It has also won the NAACP Image Award.
