Josh and Fergie first met in 2004 on the set of Josh’s show, Las Vegas. The actor later talked about their first meeting in a 2014 interview with E! News, claiming that he blurted out, “You’re hot,” to the singer.

“It sounds corny when you say it, but I think she knew I was sort of saying it tongue-in-cheek because she had already known that I had a little bit of a crush on her while she was there, and it was sort of a way of saying something she already knew,” he added.

Apparently, Josh’s blunt pick-up line worked because the two said “I do” in January 2009. They welcomed their son, Axl Jack, in August 2013, before announcing their separation in September 2017.

In October 2023, Josh opened up about his split with Fergie on an episode of the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast.

“I made peace with that part of my life. She and I have a great relationship,” he said of Fergie. “There wasn’t anything wrong with it. We had a great time. I think we kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests.”

Josh added that he has “no hard feelings” and said, “I’m very lucky that she’s a kind human.”
